Contest Alert! (For Kids)

This contest doesn't seem to be limited to the local area, so I thought I'd spread the news:

Book World invites young artists (ages 5-12) to submit their original, colorful works of art. The winning entry will be used as the cover of our forthcoming issue devoted to children's literature, and the winner will receive a bag full of books. All entries must be received by Nov. 21. Here are the rules:

* Pictures should illustrate the pleasures of reading.

* All art should be made by hand, not by computer or with the assistance of any other mechanical device.

* Pictures can be vertical or horizontal, but no smaller than 8.5 by 11 inches and no larger than 11 by 16 inches.

* Attach your name, age, telephone number and address to the back of your entry and send it to Book World Art Invitational, The Washington Post, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, DC 20071. Entries will not be returned. Contact morrism@washpost.com if you need more information.
