ReplyDeleteWhether I read or listen, poetry needs my mind and my heart. While I can read a book surrounded by white noise, poetry demands quiet and stillness from me. I'm happy to give it.
ReplyDeleteI think poetry is fun to share at the table. We often end up paying more attention to the poem than to our food...which says more about my cooking skills than anything else.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, ALL reading needs my attention. I can't concentrate with the slightest bit of noise around me. I envy multi-taskers.
ReplyDeleteI love the poetry-quote-a-day plan, by the way.
If I'm eating by myself, poetry is a wonderful companion (of course, then I could down three helpings of something without knowing it because my mind is on the poetry!).
