Poetry Quote of the Day: Carl Sandburg

This may be my favorite quote yet.

"Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths . . .

 . . . and biscuits." ~Carl Sandburg

P.S. Happy Easter! I'll be greeting the day at sunrise.

This post is part of my Poetry Quote a Day series for National Poetry Month.

  3. I love this quote with the photos, especially the biscuits, which I now want to eat. Instead, I'll be eating pancakes.

Happy Easter! I hope the sunrise was lovely.

  6. Oh my.

It's like "Wha?!??!" and "Of course!", all in one fell swoop.

    Sweet, sweet, sweet....

  8. If Carl were a British writer, I'd say he meant biscuits as in cookies, but he's not, so I'm loving that he truly meant homey, yummy biscuits. mmmm.
