Poetry Quote of the Day: Carl Sandburg

This may be my favorite quote yet.

"Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths . . .

 . . . and biscuits." ~Carl Sandburg

P.S. Happy Easter! I'll be greeting the day at sunrise.

This post is part of my Poetry Quote a Day series for National Poetry Month.

  1. Happy Sunrise, Hope and Bunnies to you, my friend.

  2. My fave quote so far, too (no surprise).

Happy Easter and good chocolate to you!

  3. I love this quote with the photos, especially the biscuits, which I now want to eat. Instead, I'll be eating pancakes.

Happy Easter! I hope the sunrise was lovely.

  4. Terrific quote! I will never look at biscuits again without thinking of poetry. :)

  5. I can almost smell both the heavenly hyacinths and the yummerly biscuits!

  6. Oh my.

It's like "Wha?!??!" and "Of course!", all in one fell swoop.

    Sweet, sweet, sweet....

  7. That is, indeed, one great quote.

I hope you had a great Easter!

  8. If Carl were a British writer, I'd say he meant biscuits as in cookies, but he's not, so I'm loving that he truly meant homey, yummy biscuits. mmmm.
