Poetry Friday: Drawn from Stone

Poetry Sisters are writing poems to images of rock/stones/walls today.  I provided three photographs taken during my trip to Israel last year, and each of us created poetry in response to one or more.

Israel was beautiful in many ways, but for some reason, I'm always drawn to rough places, and even more so if someone's made art in them.

The diversity and joy my sisters find in the world never ceases to amaze me.  Revel in their poetry here:

Poetry Friday is hosted today by Heidi Mordhorst, at My Juicy Little Universe.

  4. Only you could take a bird scribbled over a window and come up with "the heart is an open window" - and it is simply lovely.

  5. Wow. Wow. Just wow. Every word and line, but especially
    "corner at break-neck

    speed the bend of stone."

I wish I could paint these words onto the building--the painting and the poem honor one another.
    Thanks.

  7. I love 'corner at break neck', Sara. What an amazing picture, then poem, of praise? I needed to enlarge, wanted to walk into that photo and be there! I wonder if you can find the artist so you can share your poem?

  8. I love how the trash can waits for the bones to fall...I can't explain why but that line makes the others so real.

  9. I loved this photo. You saw so many things I did not. I adore the last stanza, in particular.

  10. What an intriguing poem, it goes well with the image and together the two lift off together.
