April is Poetry #8

Last night, I had an appetizer I've never had before:

white bread on white plate
pale square of butter and knife
oysters tucked inside

  1. Stomach growls; lips smack
    Not kosher for Passover
    (or ever, sadly)

  2. (Hahaha! Funny, Madelyn!)
I love the imagery of the bread and the plate, and I imagined the butter, even, as a square pat...

  3. I can see the appetizer but I won't taste it.

  4. No oysters for me. Didn't see them coming at all :).
